Whoodoo BBQ Partners With Trombone Shorty, Tulane, Whole Foods For 2nd Annual “Toys From Troy” Holiday Celebration

NEW ORLEANS – Today, Monday, December 21, 2015, from 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m., Chef Demietriek Scott of Whoodoo BBQ, will partner with the Trombone Shorty Foundation, Whole Foods Market and Tulane University for the second annual “Toys from Troy” holiday event.

         More than 300 Mid-City youth and their families will enjoy Holiday gifts, music and food from the rooftop of Whole Foods Market, 300 North Broad St., in New Orleans.

         “It is such a pleasure to be able to participate in this great event,” said Chef Scott. “Providing great food and toys to these wonderful children is truly rewarding.”

         Whoodoo BBQ will be one of the featured restaurants at the event and Chef Scott will serve his signature “ghetto burger,” a highly seasoned belly buster smothered with their signature Whoodoo Creole BBQ Sauce along with ribs, pulled pork and jerk chicken.

         The “Winter Wonderland” themed celebration will feature performances by the Trombone Shorty Academy Students, the MainLine and the New Breed Brass Bands. The event will also include face painting, crafts, games and special appearances by Troy “Trombone Shorty” Andrews and Santa Claus.

         Toys will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis and will be limited to one toy per child. Parents will be responsible for selecting a toy on their child’s behalf.
