Throughout the Home Builders Association of Greater New Orleans’ 77 year history, our members have made a name for themselves in the industry by developing and building the neighborhoods and homes we all now call home.
We in the industry see the street signs paying homage to the big developers when we’re driving down Gelpi Avenue or Ferran Drive in Metairie or Layburn Court in Algiers. However, it’s become apparent to me that much of our community does not realize the impact HBAGNO members’ work has had on their lives.
In the articles to follow, we’ll try to show you the impact that the housing industry has had on the community through statistical data related to job growth and economic development. We’ll also outline some current regulations and how we fight daily to keep housing affordable and attainable. Our members work these issues on the local, state, and national levels.
In fact, one of our own board members is currently serving as the Chairman of the National Association of Home Builders in Washington, DC. Randy Noel, CMP, of Reve, Inc., works closely with law makers on Capitol Hill on development policy, making sure to communicate to them the unique challenges faced by us here in the gulf south.
Our vision is to be The Leading Voice of the Construction Industry, and we hope all of our readers can find some helpful resources in the pages that follow.
