NEW ORLEANS — If you are waking up in Boutte, Luling or Destrehan this morning, you have a new option for breakfast, lunch or dinner today. The restaurant food delivery service Waitr officially launched in St. Charles Parish today, Aug. 22. Not only is the company providing a new way to get your favorite food, the it’s bringing 50 new jobs to the area. Details were shared in a press release.

Waitr, which was launched in Louisiana, currently services much of greater New Orleans including New Orleans, Metairie, Kenner, the Westbank and LaPlace. The company’s success in that region led to the decision to expand to St. Charles Parish.

“Our customers in the area have been so loyal to Waitr that it has enabled us to expand to Boutte, Luling and Destrehan starting today,” said Whitney Savoie, market development director for Waitr.

Restaurants in the Boutte, Luling and Destrehan areas that have already signed up with Waitr include The Howling Pepper, Anita’s Smokin’ Steak Burgers, J’aime Le Café, Firehouse Bistro, Subway, Take Away Donuts, and Catahoula’s.

Waitr will host a launch party at Catahoula’s (12713 US-90) in Luling today at 5 p.m. The company is encouraging everyone to come out and be part of the festivities. Attendees at the free party can expect food, cold drinks and complimentary items to take home.
