Voter Registration Ends Wednesday For LA's March 5 Primary

BATON ROUGE (AP) — Want to vote in Louisiana's March 5 presidential primary? You have until Wednesday to register to vote.
But there's a wrinkle.
Unlike in other Louisiana elections, the presidential primary is a closed primary — so only registered Democrats and Republicans can cast ballots, and only in their party's primary.
People who want to register to vote, or those registered voters who want to change their party affiliation can do so online with the Secretary of State's Office at www.GeauxVote.com . They can also go to the parish registrar of voters' office.
Also on the March 5 ballot, the Democratic and Republican parties will have their state central committee and parish executive committee elections. In addition, 24 parishes will have local elections, with voters able to cast ballots regardless of party affiliation.
