Volunteers Of America Greater New Orleans Welcomes New Board Of Directors

NEW ORLEANS – Volunteers of America Greater New Orleans welcomes new board chairman, Geoffrey C. Artigues, along with new chair-elect Christy M. Howley Connois, and new board member Chuck Viator.

         Chairman Artigues has served on the board since 2012. He is the mortgage loan officer and assistant vice president of Home Bank. Chair-elect Connois has served on the board since 2011 and has served as co-chair of the organization’s GolfStar Classic Adoption and Maternity Program fundraiser for six years. She is a member of the law firm of Bowman & Howley.

         “We are so blessed to have such passionate leaders on our board of directors,” said James M. LeBlanc, president and CEO of Volunteers of America Greater New Orleans. “Geoff Artigues and Christy Connois have expressed true dedication to the mission of Volunteers of America over their tenure of service, and I know they will continue to make a difference in the lives of so many as our board chairs.”

         The organization also welcomed new board member Chuck Viator, managing partner, Viator Wealth Management. He comes to the Volunteers of America Greater New Orleans Board having spent more than 30 years in the financial services industry. He has been involved with Volunteers of America Greater New Orleans’ annual Reach for the Stars Breakfast as a Star Ambassador since 2012, and served as committee co-chair in 2016 and 2017.

         “My desire to be on the board is driven by the fact that Volunteers of America truly helps so many disadvantaged individuals in our community,” said Chuck Viator. “My experience with the Reach for the Stars Breakfast for the last five years has given me an opportunity to observe the truly exceptional work that occurs every day. I am excited to help spread the word and get many more people involved, and in turn, help more individuals.”

         In addition to Artigues and Connois, other officers for the 2017-2018 term include Chanel Lagarde, secretary; Tod Smith, treasurer; and Wayne Baquet Jr., immediate past chair. In addition to Chuck Viator, the Volunteers of America Greater New Orleans Board of Directors is comprised of James M. LeBlanc, president and CEO of Volunteers of America Greater New Orleans; M. Isabel Barrios; Fred H. Myers; Terrence C. Forstall; Leonard D. Simmons, Jr.; Paul Graff; Lynn Swanson; Nathan J. Junius; and David Konur.
