UNO and Latter & Blum to Present Annual Economic Outlook and Real Estate Forecast Seminar

NEW ORLEANS, La. – The University of New Orleans and Latter & Blum, Inc. will present the 30th Dr. Ivan Miestchovich Economic Outlook & Real Estate Forecast Seminar on Friday, April 5, 2019 on the University’s campus. It will take place from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Sen. Ted Hickey Ballroom of the University Center. This annual seminar brings together people from a wide cross-section of the region’s business, professional and civic communities. Additional details were shared in a press release.

The seminar will be moderated by Robert Penick, director of the Institute for Economic Development and Real Estate Research.

The seminar will open with a discussion on the hospitality and tourism industry, moderated by John Williams, dean of the College of Business Administration. The panel includes Mavis Early, executive director of the Greater New Orleans Hotel and Lodging Association, and Jeff Anding, vice president of external affairs for New Orleans & Co.

A panel on commercial trends and outlooks for the retail, office and industrial real estate market will follow. Speakers include Kirsten Early, partner and director of retail at SRSA Commercial Real Estate; Bruce Sossaman, leasing director and broker associate at Corporate Realty; and Daniel Marse, commercial sales and leasing associate at NAI/Latter & Blum.

The seminar will conclude with a focus on residential real estate. Larry Schedler, president of Larry G. Schedler & Associates, will provide an overview on market rate multifamily housing, while Terri North, president and CEO of Providence Community Housing, will discuss affordable housing and Lacey Conway, president of Latter & Blum, will address single-family housing. A panel on affordable housing in metro New Orleans will follow. Moderated by Paul Richard, commercial sales and leasing associate with NAI/Latter & Blum, the panel will include Damon Burns, president and CEO of the Finance Authority of New Orleans; Jamie Neville, owner of Neville Development; and Michael Williamson, president and CEO of United Way of Southeast Louisiana.  

The cost to attend the seminar is $50 if registered by March 28 and $65 at the door. The event is free to UNO faculty, staff and students, who also must register to attend.
