United Way Names Mary Ambrose Chief Equity and Impact Officer
NEW ORLEANS — United Way of Southeast Louisiana has promoted Mary Ambrose from chief impact officer to chief equity and impact officer, adding oversight of the organization’s diversity, equity and inclusion efforts to her responsibilities.
Ambrose helped kick off UWSELA’s equity journey when she led the work to create the Blueprint for Prosperity, its plan to eradicate poverty in the region. She also wrote and secured a grant from United Way Worldwide. This funding facilitated the hiring of Dr. Toya Teamer to develop the organization’s first DEI strategic plan. Additionally, she provided interim leadership over the last year around UWSELA’s DEI work.
In her new role, Ambrose will build upon past plans and efforts, develop new strategies and further explore the opportunities ahead to position UWSELA as a DEI force multiplier.
Ambrose secured her certification in DEI from E-Cornell University and has served UWSELA for nearly 25 years.
