The Saint Hotel To Add Mojo Coffee Bar, Offer Opening Day Specials

NEW ORLEANS – Mojo Coffee House is expanding with the addition of a coffee bar in The Saint Hotel, 931 Canal St., opening on Thursday, September 1, 2016. On opening day, the coffee bar will celebrate by offering Downtown residents, coffee-lovers and workers on their lunch break half-off all beverages from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Mojo Coffee Bar will have a select menu focused on coffee and espresso featuring Mojo Coffee Roasters own single origin coffees, small-batch roasted in New Orleans. Mojo Coffee Roasters retail coffee and a selection of brewing equipment will also be available for purchase. The location will be open seven days a week from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

The coffee bar, nicknamed “Mojo 2.5,” will add to Mojo’s two local shops and roasting business.

“We’re really excited to add Mojo to the hotel,” said Darryl Hill, general manager of The Saint Hotel. “We want to create an open space that adds to guest’s luxury experience where they have the choice to grab a high-quality coffee, a drink at the bar, or dine in our upscale bistro.”

The partnership was seemingly meant to be. Mojo Coffee’s proprietors, Angela Jackson and Demian Estevez nicknamed “Angel and Demon,” attracted the hotel whose love of angels and demons is evident in its suites named for heaven and hell and their decor.

“The location for Mojo Coffee Bar couldn’t be more perfect,” said Mojo Coffee Roasters’ Estevez. “Even with the city’s thriving coffee scene, the coffee bar will be the only spot for a local brew within a few blocks.”

Mojo Coffee Roasters stress quality by roasting in true small batch form, only six to eight pounds at a time so they can carefully sift through the beans, ensuring that every bag they roast meets strict quality standards. All of Mojo’s roasting is done in their facility in the Black Pearl by Roastmaster Matt Cronin and Estevez.

Mojo Coffee Roasters single origin coffees are available for purchase in both Mojo Coffee House shops at 1500 Magazine St. and 4700 Freret St., online at mojocoffeeroasters.com, and soon to be at The Saint Hotel.

Mojo Coffee House began with its flagship neighborhood shop on Magazine Street in 2006, and expanded to include a second location on Freret Street in 2012. One of the first coffee shops in New Orleans to introduce hand crafted pour over methods, Mojo Coffee House is known for being a community meeting spot and offering a cup of coffee to suit anyone’s needs.

         Both locations are open Monday – Friday from 6:30 a.m. – 12:00 a.m. and Saturday – Sunday 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 a.m.

Mojo Coffee House introduced Mojo Coffee Roasters in 2015. Ethically sourced, hand-sorted and small-batch roasted in New Orleans, Mojo strives to highlight the innate sweetness and unique flavor characteristics of each of their coffees, and focus on ensuring consistency from seed to cup. Local cafés including Satsuma serves Mojo coffee in their Uptown and Bywater locations, and the Maison Dupuy Hotel in the French Quarter features Mojo cold brew on tap.
