The Ruby Slipper Café To Open Uptown Location Early 2017

NEW ORLEANS – The Ruby Slipper Café will soon open a location Uptown. The Café will start transforming the former Brick & Spoon location at 2802 Magazine St. in early December and open to the public in January 2017, per permit approvals. This will mark The Ruby Slipper Café’s fifth restaurant in New Orleans. The Cafe’s fleet also includes locations in Orange Beach, AL and Pensacola, FL.
“We are excited that our Ruby Slipper family has the opportunity to expand within our home city of New Orleans,” Jennifer Weishaupt, owner of The Ruby Slipper Café, said. “We’ve had our eye on opening a location Uptown for years and this location off the corner at Washington and Magazine Street seems like the perfect spot. We look forward to sharing our own brand of Southern charm with another New Orleans neighborhood for many years to come.”
Restaurant reps said patrons can expect the Café’s classic menu featuring its signature twists on old Southern favorites at its new Uptown location in January 2017. The award-winning Shrimp Cortez and visitor favorite, Eggs Cochon, are just a few of the many reasons The Café continues to be included on ‘best of’ lists across the Gulf South, they said.
“The Café is a destination for locals and tourists alike and we expect that the new spot on Magazine Street will be no exception,” Weishaupt said.
To shorten wait time when visiting, patrons can download and use the nowait app. The Ruby Slipper Café also delivers via UberEATS in New Orleans. Customers can order online or with the app to have food brought right to their door.
The Café is open weekdays 7:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. and weekends 7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
The Ruby Slipper Café is a family-owned and operated business, and open to serve diners 363 days a year at five New Orleans locations (Marigny, Mid-City, Magazine St. and Canal St.) including its newest Uptown location opening January 2017, one in Pensacola, FL, and one in Orange Beach, AL. The Ruby Slipper Café was inspired by a powerful sense of homecoming when returning to New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina, and has expanded across the Southern Gulf Region since opening in 2008. The Ruby Slipper Café brings New Orleans flair to southern breakfast standards, brunch classics and fresh lunch dishes, as well as its eye-opening cocktails.
