NEW ORLEANS — The Idea Village, a New Orleans-based nonprofit dedicated to supporting regional startup companies and their founders, is accepting applications for companies to join its 2020 accelerator program. Applications will remain open through Monday, Nov. 4.

The accelerator program, called VILLAGEx (formerly IDEAx), helps founders of startup companies quickly position their business for growth. The announcement was made in a press release.

“I truly believe that the VILLAGEx accelerator program will prove to be the 10X+ growth boost our business needed,” says Josh Johnston, founder of TrayAway and VILLAGEx 2019 alumni. “Where we will be revenue-wise 12 months from now is drastically higher than the trajectory we were on prior to going through the program.”

VILLAGEx is an industry-leading GAN accelerator program focused on innovative post-idea stage, technology-enabled startups. This program utilizes mentoring by industry leaders and experienced entrepreneurs to provide education and one-on-one consultation to maximize founders’ ability to scale their businesses quickly and positively impact the economy of New Orleans and its surrounding regions.

VILLAGEx has graduated a total of 261 startups that have created thousands of jobs, raised over $240 million in total capital and earned over $252 million in revenue in the last fiscal year.

“Operating a quality accelerator program isn’t easy—but The Idea Village has a demonstrated track record of improving businesses in the New Orleans region for nearly 20 years,” says GAN CEO Patrick Riley, “And that’s something to celebrate.”

The 2020 VILLAGEx program runs Jan. 6 through April 28, 2020. Interested entrepreneurs who fit the criteria are encouraged to apply online: https://www.ideavillage.org/villagex
