The Greater New Orleans Housing Alliance Hosts City Planning Commission Hearing

NEW ORLEANS – The Greater New Orleans Housing Alliance (GNOHA) is encouraging residents to join them at the upcoming City Planning Commission (CPC) hearing on Tuesday, Nov. 13, to stress the need for mandatory inclusionary zoning as part of the Smart Housing Mix.
The Smart Housing Mix represents one of the most impactful tools at the City's disposal to address the current affordable housing crisis. However, the addition of inclusionary zoning, in lieu of the mandatory inclusionary zoning recommendations currently listed in the Smart Housing Mix would be detrimental to the legislation's implementation and effectiveness.
GNOHA is calling upon residents to attend Tuesday's hearing and urge the CPC and City Council to support a mandatory zoning policy to ensure the creation of affordable housing, not just in low-income neighborhoods, but throughout the entire City of New Orleans.
The event takes place at 1:30 p.m., in the Homeland Security Conference Room, City Hall Room 8E10 (1300 Perdido St., New Orleans 70130)
