St. Tammany Health System Gives COVID-19 Update

COVINGTON – As of noon Tuesday (March 31, 2020), the Louisiana Department of Health was reporting 5,237 positive or presumptive positive cases of COVID-19 statewide, including 220 in St. Tammany Parish, 28 in Washington Parish and 25 in Tangipahoa Parish. St. Tammany Health System is currently caring for 16 positive-tested patients. All STHS patients who test positive or are suspected of being infected with COVID-19 are kept in isolation with negative pressure, and all colleagues are following proper procedures.

STHS is currently operating a drive-through testing station at its Mandeville Diagnostic Center for those with orders from a physician. Ochsner designated its Mandeville Urgent Care for COVID-19 assessment and testing, along with Houma and New Orleans locations.

We work closely with the Louisiana Department of Health (LDH) and Centers for Disease Control (CDC) to make sure that we are informed. We manage our facilities to ensure we are supplied and prepared for our community’s needs.
