St. John Trace Breaks Ground In Gentilly Today, Hosts Nola Tree Project Fundraiser
NEW ORLEANS – Realty Point NOLA and Chisesi Signature Homes will break ground on St. John Trace today, Wednesday, May 11, 2016. The project is their newest development of homes located in the heart of New Orleans.
“The St. John Trace community, located on Gentilly Boulevard near the Fairgrounds, is comprised of homes that offer modern finishes and amenities while maintaining the character and charm that is distinctively New Orleans,” said Heather Calder, owner/ broker at Realty Point NOLA. “We are very excited about this new development of homes in an area that is really emerging. These homes will be within walking distance to the Fairgrounds, City Park, Esplanade Avenue and Bayou St. John, offering residents lots to see and do.”
The new community, which is expected to be fully completed at the end of 2017 will include 13 single-family homes all architecturally relevant to the area. The first three homes of St. John Trace, will be ready at the end of October 2016. The homes are true to the brand of Chisesi Signature Homes, where “Custom Finish is Our Signature.”
This development is one of Baptiste Chisesi’s many residential projects within the community since his company’s start in 1992, which includes the revitalization of the Gentilly Woods/ Pontchartrain Park Neighborhood immediately following Hurricane Katrina, with the renovation of over 30 homes in that community.
Chisesi is no stranger to Gentilly and he said he is very excited to have the opportunity to be a part of the yet another revitalization project in the area. St John Trace is on the heels of his most recent development, Bienville Trace, a neighborhood of newly constructed New Orleans style homes located in the 3500 block of Bienville Street.
“We look forward to developing yet another piece of vacant, underutilized land in an area so rich with New Orleans culture,” said Chisesi. “St. John Trace includes the laid back style and southern charm that makes New Orleans so unique. It’s NOLA living at its finest.”
St John Trace’s groundbreaking celebration, at Jockey’s Pub, 1814 Gentilly Blvd., from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m., will allow guests to walk around the site and get a sneak peak of the plans for this new development. Cocktails and snacks will be provided. In celebration of the groundbreaking, the St. John Trace developers and real estate team partnered with Nola Tree Project to help raise money to support the efforts of the nonprofit organization. With a $10 suggested donation, guests will have a chance to win an iPad. Realty Point NOLA and Chisesi Signature Homes will match all donations collected at the event.

The St. John Trace properties include: The Iberville, a 2,200 square-foot classic New Orleans style home with 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, featuring an open floor plan with French doors that connect to the rear porch; The St. John, a 2,100 square-foot traditional cottage style home with 3 bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms and a spacious front porch, perfect for relaxing; The Milne, a 2,100 square-foot home with 3 bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms, featuring a covered front porch and a rear porch, perfect for outdoor living; and The Navarre, a 2,100 square-foot home with 3 bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms, featuring an open contemporary layout showcasing a large kitchen that is open to the living and dining area and separated by a breakfast bar on the first floor.
