Slidell Businessman Crowley Seeks St. Tammany Parish Council Seat

SLIDELL, LA – Slidell business-owner Dan Crowley will seek the District 13 seat on the St. Tammany Parish Council in the October election.
Crowley, 48, retired from the United States Navy in 2009 as a Senior Chief Petty Officer. Having been stationed in the area and living in District 13 since 2003, he and his family chose to stay in Slidell.
"In our various moves during my 24-year career in the Navy, this is the place we had been and felt most connected to a community," Crowley said. "This is the place with the lifestyle we want to live. I can give back more, and I wouldn't have that opportunity in other places. I can be there for more people, and that's my calling."
Crowley is a small business-owner, chairman of the Fire District 1 Board of Commissioners, an active member of the Chamber of Commerce, and served as president of the Meadowlake Homeowners Association for 10 years before moving to Eden Isles.
He has been married for 26 years to Lisa Crowley, a registered nurse, and is the father of two sons, Matthew, 25, who serves in the U.S. Air Force, and John, 24, a biologist and lab analyst.
"My entire life has been about public service," Crowley said. "With our children grown, on their own and successful in their callings, and as a business owner with great flexibility, I know it is time for me to serve, and I'm ready to do what it takes – to run, to win and to serve. The people expect service. They expect accessibility. They want a councilman who is visible. That's the change I will bring."
