Sizeler Thompson Brown Architects Announces the Licensure of Four of their Team Members in the Past Year

NEW ORLEANS – Sizeler Thompson Brown Architects announced in a press release that four of their staff members completed the core education, experience, and examination requirements for licensure in the past year. Clarissa Costa Lima, Lance Dickman, and Alex Ratliff became licensed Architects and Madeleine Rappold became a Registered Interior Designer.

Becoming a licensed architect requires that you must obtain a professional degree in architecture from an accredited professional degree program, work under a supervising architect to earn a required amount of experience hours covering numerous topics, and pass the six exams known as the Architecture Registration Examination (ARE) to register for a license. To become a licensed Interior Designer you must obtain a professional degree in Interior Design from an accredited professional degree program, work under a supervising Interior Designer to earn a required amount of experience hours covering numerous topics, and pass the three exams known as the National Council for Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ) exam to register for a license.

For passing their exams, each of Sizeler Thompson Brown’s team members received a $1000 check from the company.

Costa Lima earned her bachelor of architecture degree from Penn State University’s School of Architecture in 2013 and joined STBA’s Healthcare Studio in 2017.

Dickman received his masters in architecture from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee School of Architecture and Urban Planning in 2007 and joined STBA’s Regional Design Studio in 2017.

Ratliff earned a master of architecture from Tulane University’s School of Architecture in 2012 after receiving a bachelor of science in architecture from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2010. He joined the STBA Healthcare Studio in 2016.

Rappold received her bachelor of interior design from Louisiana State University’s School of Interior Design in 2014 and started working for the interior design department at STBA in 2017.
