Second Harvest Food Bank To Get $50,000 Match For Harvey Donations

NEW ORLEANS – Summit Financial Wealth Advisors, a Lafayette-based company, will match donations to Second Harvest Food Bank dollar for dollar up to $50,000 through Sept. 30 to support the food bank’s Hurricane Harvey relief efforts.
“We are so grateful to Summit Financial Wealth Advisors for stepping up and making this generous gift,” said Natalie Jayroe, Second Harvest president and CEO. “Thanks to this matching offer, we can raise twice as much money for relief efforts, and our donors can see their gifts go further. As we are well aware here in South Louisiana, the need for relief is long-term. Second Harvest is committed to helping victims of this disaster as long as it takes them to get back on their feet, and this gift will help us keep those relief efforts going.”
Donors are encouraged to take advantage of this offer early, to ensure their gifts will be matched. Second Harvest is sending truckloads of food, water and supplies to the impacted areas almost daily, and count on donations of products and funds to ensure the deliveries to those most in need, reps said.
Second Harvest Food Bank is an affiliated ministry of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of New Orleans, a member of Feeding America and a United Way partner agency.
Second Harvest continues to accept donations of food and supplies at its Elmwood and Lafayette warehouses and its partner agency, the Northshore Food Bank, and monetary donations here.
