Sac-A-Lait Hosts Bourbon Dinner To Benefit Hurricane Victims

NEW ORLEANS – Sac-a-Lait is teaming up with Sazerac Company and the United States Bartending Guild (USBG) to host a five-course Bourbon Dinner to raise funds for those affected by hurricanes Harvey and Irma.

         Priced at $150 per person (all-inclusive), the spirited pairing dinner will take place on Thursday, Oct. 12, at Sac-a-Lait, 1051 Annunciation St., in the Warehouse District. The entrance is on John Churchill Chase Street.

         “It’s been tragic to see so many of our friends and colleagues displaced and suffering,” said Samantha Carroll, Sac-a-Lait chef and co-owner. “It hits home for us in New Orleans and we want to do whatever we can to help them repair and rebuild.”

         The five-course dinner begins at 6:30 p.m. and will feature culinary delights from Samantha and husband/chef Cody Carroll, paired with innovative Sazerac cocktails from beverage director Norton Christopher, restaurant reps said.

         Bourbon enthusiasts and foodies will enjoy the following menu:

 

First Course

DEVILED CRAB

Pontchartrain crab meat, whipped egg yoke, marinated cucumber, Bourbon sabayon

Garden Sour – Sazerac rye, citrus, garden herbs, bitters

 

Second Course

ROASTED QUAIL

Bourbon glaze, dirty rice

Cypress Sunset – Eagle Rare, jalapeño, black pepper, coriander, charred tarragon, ojen

 

Third Course

INTERMISSION

Gone Fishin’ – Buffalo Trace White Dog, peach, lime, ginger, lemongrass, garden herbs

 

Fourth Course

WILD BOAR CHOP

Confit potatoes, heirloom tomato, Bourbon creolaise

Old Fashioned– Stagg Jr., demerara, bitters, flamed citrus

 

Fifth Course

CHOCOLATE GOOEY CAKE

Charred marshmallow, Bourbon ice cream, spiced pecan crumble, Bourbon caramel
