Royal Sonesta New Orleans’ Jazz Playhouse Hosts The Brass-A-Holics Each Wednesday In June

NEW ORLEANS – Internationally renowned band, the Brass-A-Holics has taken up mini-residency at Royal Sonesta New Orleans’ The Jazz Playhouse every Wednesday this June, which also happens to be Black Music Month. Performances by the world-famous “go-go brass funk” band begin at 8:30 p.m. each Wednesday through June 28, and are open to the public with no cover charge, though preferred seating is available here.
Doors at The Jazz Playhouse open daily at 4:00 p.m.
Formed in 2010, the Brass-A-Holics have taken their unique sound and performance style around the world. The band consists of core New Orleans brass elements, including trumpet, trombone and saxophone, then adds a full drum set, percussion, keyboard, bass and electric guitar, giving the band limitless options to explore new sonic territory. The Brass-A-Holics blend a heavy dose of New Orleans’ brass sound with the electricity of Washington D.C.'s go-go genre, thus creating a synergy of go-go brass funk, bringing it to the stage to dazzle and entertain diverse audiences everywhere.
Coinciding with the Wednesday performance series during the month of June, The Jazz Playhouse mixology team will offer a special craft cocktail, named Word On The Street. The drink is an intriguing mix of Gentleman Jack double mellowed whiskey and crème de mûre blackberry liqueur, balanced with a touch of lemon and ginger. The “go-go funky” blend of flavors is inspired by the Brass-A-Holics and the unveiling of the band’s new mixtape, “Word On The Street (The Prequel).”
