Royal Sonesta New Orleans Adds Director Of Rooms, Director Of Engineering
NEW ORLEANS — The newly renovated, landmark hotel Royal Sonesta New Orleans has added two positions to its executive staff.
The hotel has hired Paul Steiger as director of engineering and Brian Englehart as director of rooms. The staff additions bring a combined total of nearly five decades of hospitality industry experience to Royal Sonesta New Orleans’ employee team.
Steiger comes to Royal Sonesta New Orleans with more than 20 years of hospitality industry experience. Most recently, he served as director of engineering at the 800-room Nickelodeon Resort and Suites in Orlando, Florida. He also has an extensive brand protection background from his time as Central Florida district manager for the Steri-tech Group, where he oversaw service operations for more than 1,100 hotels and restaurants. Steiger also has supervised the operations end of hotel transitions in both Florida and New Orleans.
Englehart joins the Royal Sonesta team after having served at some of New Orleans’ premier hotel properties and hospitality entities. Previously, he was director of operations at Wyndham New Orleans French Quarter, general manager of Limousine Livery luxury transportation service, general manager of The Saint Hotel, director of hotel operations at The Roosevelt New Orleans and director of housekeeping with The Ritz Carlton. In total, Englehart has nearly 25 years of career experience in executive hotel service and hospitality.

Royal Sonesta New Orleans is home to several dining and entertainment venues, including Restaurant R’evolution, Bar R’evolution, Irvin Mayfield’s Jazz Playhouse, Desire Oyster Bar, Le Booze and PJ’s Coffee Café. In addition, Royal Sonesta New Orleans offers 20,000 square feet of meeting and special event space. With 483 newly appointed rooms, including 36 suites, the hotel is one of nearly 70 properties within Sonesta.
