Propeller Club Port Of New Orleans Hosts ‘BP Oil Spill Lunch & Learn’ With Guest Speaker Juneau

The Propeller Club of the U.S. Port of New Orleans will host a “Lunch & Learn” event focusing on the BP Oil Spill Thursday, Sept. 14, at the Southern Yacht Club, 105 N. Roadway St., from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Patrick Juneau, with the Deepwater Horizon Settlement Program, will be the featured guest speaker at the event. Juneau is an experienced attorney who has tried in excess of 200 civil jury trials and mediated more than 4,000 matters. His extensive trial experience has served him well in his later professional life, reps said. He has been appointed and has served as the Special Master in more than 30 cases. Many of these cases were in the MDL and they were throughout the United States. Some of those cases are: In Re: Combustion, Inc., In Re: Avandia Products Liability Litigation, In Re: Guidant Defibrillators Product Liability Litigation, and In Re: Toyota Unintended Acceleration Litigation. Two of the cases, In Re: Vioxx Products Liability Litigation and the now infamous case of In Re: Oil Spill by the Oil Rig “Deepwater Horizon” or commonly known as, “the BP Oil Spill in the Gulf of Mexico” are the two largest settlements by one payor in American legal history.
Juneau was recognized in 2006 by the Louisiana State University Law School as the Distinguished Alumnus of the Year. He is also a Fellow in the American College of Trial Lawyers and a Fellow in the International Academy of Trial Lawyers. He is also a charter member of the Academy of Court Appointed Masters.
There will be a cash bar at the luncheon.
