Pierre A. Capdau Charter School, DEA Promote Career Pathways For Students

NEW ORLEANS – On Tuesday, May 9, Pierre A. Capdau Charter School, 4621 Canal St., partnered with the New Orleans branch of the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) to host an event honoring students who demonstrated positive behaviors during the 2016-2017 school year. This partnership was formed in an effort to promote activities that encourage positive behavior, drug awareness and career pathways for students.

At the event, students who have demonstrated positive behavior and exemplify the culture of being "Students of Character, Trust, Respect and Responsibility," were treated to a helicopter experience from a licensed pilot.

The pilot provided a "show and tell" to the select group of more than 100 students about the functions of the apparatus. Following the presentation, students had the opportunity to ask questions and take photos.
