Peter Mayer president and CEO Mark Mayer and CCO Josh Mayer reveal a bronze sculpture last Friday at the Peter Mayer 50th Anniversary Open House that honors the firm’s late founder Peter Mayer.

It was a special weekend celebration of 50 years at Peter Mayer Advertising last week that included staff volunteers constructing a Story Shelter as part of the new Louisiana Children’s Museum’s campus in City Park and aiding in the ongoing development of the New Orleans Botanical Garden. On Friday, Sept. 28, at Peter Mayer headquarters at 318 Camp St., the festivities culminated at an Open House, that hosted past and present employees, their family and friends, when a unique bronze sculpture was unveiled in honor of the legacy of New Orleans’ oldest advertising agency and its late founder Peter Mayer.

The director’s chair, cigar and ashtray sculpture brought back many memories for those who witnessed The “Mayer” of Camp Street enjoying afternoons visiting with neighbors while smoking a real cigar from his iconic director's chair.

But celebratory talk also focused on the future.
