Northshore Economic Development The Focus Of UNO, Latter & Blum, Inc. Seminar

NEW ORLEANS – The University of New Orleans and Latter & Blum, Inc. will present the Dr. Ivan Miestchovich Economic Outlook & Real Estate Forecast Seminar for the Northshore Region on Friday, June 12, 2015, at the Clarion Inn & Suites Conference Center, at 501 North Highway 190, in Covington, LA, from 8:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
This annual seminar, newly named to honor Dr. Ivan Miestchovich who retired in May after a 38 year career at UNO, focuses on the I-10/1-12 corridor of the Northshore and brings together people from a wide cross-section of the region’s business, professional and civic communities.
Registration and networking begins at 8:00 a.m., followed by opening remarks from Dr. John Williams, Dean of the UNO College of Business Administration and St. Tammany Parish President Pat Brister.
The first panel focusing on “Northshore Economic Development” will be moderated by Ashley Cangelosi Llewellyn of the St. Tammany Economic Development Foundation. Quentin Messer, Assistant Secretary for Louisiana Economic Development (LED), the lead speaker for this panel, will focus on statewide economic development strategies and projects.
Following Asst. Secretary Messer, will be St. Tammany Economic Development Foundation CEO Brenda Bertus, Tangipahoa Parish Economic Development Foundation Executive Director Stacy Neal and Livingston Parish Economic Development Council President & CEO Larry Collins addressing economic development assets, projects and future plans in their respective parishes.
The next two panels, moderated by Dr. Robert Penick, Senior Vice President & CFO Latter & Blum, Inc. and UNO Adjunct Professor, will address the trends and outlooks for the real estate market.
The Residential Real Estate panel features Richard Haase of Latter & Blum, Inc. and Larry Schedler of Larry G. Schedler & Associates. The Commercial Real Estate panelists include Michael Saucier and Robert “Terry” Blackwell from Gulf States Real Estate Services.
