NORLI To Recognize Regional Leaders Gambel, Sims, Hill At Gala Tonight
NEW ORLEANS – Tonight, Friday, Nov. 4, at The Cannery, 3803 Toulouse St., the New Orleans Regional Leadership Institute (NORLI) will recognize three NORLI alumni for their work impacting the region at its annual gala. The gala will begin at 7:30 p.m.
This year’s honorees are:
• NORLI Regional Leader – Betsie Gambel, President, Gambel Communications (2010 Alumna)
• NORLI Emerging Leader – Jyric Sims, COO, Tulane HCA Hospital (2016 Alumnus)
• NORLI Innovative Leader – Hunter Hill, New Orleans Market President, IBERIABANK (2015 Alumnus)
This will be the first year that NORLI presents an alum with the Regional Leader Award, crediting an individual whose outstanding leadership has been essential in building and sustaining partnerships with communities that are within the Greater New Orleans region.
The mission of NORLI is to help promote regionalism. NORLI provides current and emerging leaders with a more thorough understanding of issues and an enhanced ability to collaborate for the greater good of the community, organization reps said. The institute selects a diverse group of leaders to participate in a thought-provoking, nine-month educational program. Participants experience a variety of statewide issues presented through lectures, on-site visits, readings, discussion groups, simulations, and other leadership development activities.
According to NORLI’s gala chair, Demetric M. Mercadel, “We are excited for this evening of fun and frivolity, especially because its purpose is so essential to the city.”
All gala proceeds will be earmarked for the implementation of a visionary plan to position the New Orleans region for success by developing leaders for the community. NORLI’s “Can Do” spirit themed night will feature dinner and entertainment by the world famous gogo brass funk band, The Brass-A-Holics.
Major gala sponsors include Entergy, Atmos Energy and Tulane Health System.
This annual event is open to both NORLI alumni and the Greater New Orleans community. A limited number of tickets will be available at the door tonight.
