Nola Baby & Family Magazine Celebrates 10 Years, New Name – Nola Family
NEW ORLEANS — Fleur de Lis Publishing, which will celebrate the 10th anniversary of the launch of its parenting publication, nola baby & family magazine, in September, has also changed the magazine’s name to nola family.
“Over the past 10 years, we’ve been growing up with our readers,” said Publisher Ann Herren. “The name nola family more accurately reflects the community we serve—families-to-be, young families, families with kids heading off to college. We even reach out to grandparents.”
The new name follows an increase in the magazine’s publication schedule two years ago, when it went from a bimonthly to nine issues per year, including an annual resource guide. The additional issues were added to the publication’s schedule to better serve readers’ desire for increased frequency. It also added greater cohesion with the publication’s more frequent digital initiatives.
The only locally founded and owned parenting publication in New Orleans, nola family magazine was started by Ann Herren in her home; it is now housed in an office on Oak Street and employees two sales reps, a sales manager, an editor, a design editor, an office manager, an ad designer; freelance writers and photographers are used as needed.
The publication is a member of Parenting Media Association, an international trade association of regional parenting publications from which it has received numerous awards for design, photography and editorial content.
