New Traffic Advisory For Fleur De Lis Drive Reconstruction Project

NEW ORLEANS — The City of New Orleans construction contractor, Command Construction Industries, LLC, re-routed northbound traffic on Fleur De Lis Drive in the West End neighborhood to the traditionally southbound travel lane. The northbound lane, which was closed last month between 30th and 32nd Streets, is now closed to through traffic between 30th and Portland Streets as crews excavate and replace the existing sewer force main. City reps want residents and commuters to use caution when driving, bicycling and walking near all construction sites.

The detour should last approximately seven months and is part of the Fleur De Lis Drive reconstruction project between 30th Street and Old Hammond Highway. The $12 million Fleur de Lis Drive reconstruction project calls for removing and replacing existing water, sewer and drainage lines, repaving the roadway in concrete, installing new sidewalks and installing Americans with Disabilities Act-compliant curb ramps at intersections.
