New Orleans Partner Laizer Elected To Adams And Reese Executive Committee

NEW ORLEANS – Adams and Reese announced that New Orleans Partner Edwin “Ed” C. Laizer has been elected to the firm’s Executive Committee, effective Jan. 1, 2016.

         The six-partner Adams and Reese Executive Committee oversees strategic operations of the multidisciplinary firm and its attorneys and staff. The law firm of Adams and Reese is home to nearly 300 attorneys and advisors practicing in 16 offices and 15 markets across the southern United States and Washington, D.C.

         Laizer joined Adams and Reese in 1983. He previously served two three-year terms on the Executive Committee and as a Litigation Practice Group Leader. He has been involved in a number of high-profile, complex mass tort, class action and maritime limitation of liability actions. Laizer focuses his practice on transactions and litigation in the energy, marine, transportation, construction, insurance and commercial arenas, including the defense of complex personal injury and death, property damage and products liability claims, as well as insurance coverage litigation.

         Laizer is a past Chair of the Admiralty and Maritime Law Committee of the Tort and Insurance Practice Section of the American Bar Association. He has also been named a Louisiana Super Lawyer in the Transportation and Maritime specialties and a Best Lawyer in the Personal Injury Litigation specialty.

         Laizer is admitted to practice law in Louisiana. He earned his Juris Doctor degree from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law in 1985 and Bachelor of Business Administration from Loyola in 1983.

         Laizer was elected to the Adams and Reese Executive Committee along with Tampa, Florida Partner Robert “Bill” W. Boos. Columbia, South Carolina Partner William “Bill” P. McElveen, Jr. was elected to Chair the firm’s Executive Committee, effective Jan. 1, 2016.

         Lawyer includes Adams and Reese on its distinguished list of the nation's top law firms – "The Am Law 200". The National Law Journal also includes the firm on the "NLJ 350" list of the nation's largest law firms.
