New Orleans, Ohio Group Working On Business Opportunities

NEW ORLEANS (AP) — Officials at the Port of New Orleans plan to work with industry leaders from the Central Ohio River corridor to find new business opportunities between that region and the port.
The New Orleans Advocate reports port officials and the Central Ohio River Business Association signed a memorandum Monday that lays the groundwork for regional market studies and joint marketing activities, exchanging data and cross-training opportunities with the goal of developing new business and streamlining customer service.
The agreement is for two years and can be renewed.
The Central Ohio River Business Association has more than 50 members, including barge and towing companies, equipment supply companies, cargo terminals, shippers, marine services, public agencies and technical colleges.
