NEW ORLEANS (AP) — The mayor of New Orleans says she will soon announce an official plan for crowd control ahead of Fat Tuesday.

Friday’s announcement comes after video of huge crowds on Bourbon Street went viral over the weekend, WDSU-TV reported.

Mayor LaToya Cantrell says she’s concerned about the potential for “super spreaders” of the coronavirus during Mardi Gras.

The announcement is expected late Friday morning.
