Friday, Sep. 2 – The NFL and the New Orleans Saints host an event for the Denham Springs, LA, community, as part of their support for relief efforts in Louisiana, 10:00 a.m. The event will include the New Orleans Saints hosting a Junior Training Camp for youth football players from the South Louisiana Youth Football Association. Attendees include Denham Springs Mayor Gerard Landry.

Friday, Sep. 2 – Louisiana Child Passenger Safety Task Force, Louisiana Highway Safety Commission, University Medical Center, and Louisiana State Police conduct free child passenger safety seat check-up event, 10:00 a.m.

Friday, Sep. 2 – Engineer and planetary scientist S. Alan Stern, who leads NASA's historic mission to explore Pluto, gives a free public talk at the Louisiana State University Hill Memorial Library, 2:00 p.m. Presentation includes the history of the mission, the encounter with Pluto, the public reaction to the flyby and other major scientific achievements and discoveries made to date.

Saturday, Sep. 3 – Jefferson Parish Animal Shelter and SPCA hold special adoption event, following the recent flooding in Baton Rouge, 11:00 a.m.
