Friday, Feb. 24 – Restore Louisiana Task Force meeting, to provide an update on next steps in the state’s action plan for distributing a $438 million appropriation for flood relief, 9:30 a.m.

Friday, Feb. 24 – Royal Sonesta New Orleans hosts its 47th annual Greasing of the Poles, kicking off the French Quarter’s Mardi Gras weekend, 10:00 a.m.

Friday, Feb. 24 – Louisiana State Police conduct an operational briefing for Carnival 2017, 4:00 p.m. Attendees include New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu, Louisiana State Police Superintendent Mike Edmonson, and New Orleans Police Superintendent Michael Harrison.

Saturday, Feb. 25 – Krewe of Endymion Parade, part of New Orleans' annual Mardi Gras celebrations, followed by performances from KISS, Flo Rida and KC and the Sunshine Band. All performers are also invited to serve as grand marshals in the Parade. KISS was scheduled to ride in the 1979 parade before a police strike forced the parade to move, while frontman Gene Simmons acted as grand marshal in 2005.

Sunday, Feb. 26 – New Orleans Mardi Gras Krewe of Bacchus Parade. This year's Monarch, aka Bacchus XLIX, is actor Jim Caviezel, while the theme of the 2017 parade is Bacchus Salutes The Saints 50th, celebrating the 50th season of the New Orleans Saints
