Friday, Dec. 16 – Gulf Coast Ecosystem Restoration Council (aka RESTORE Council) meeting, to vote on an update to its 2013 Comprehensive Plan, to provide additional strategic guidance for the Council to follow as it makes decisions on funding projects and activities aimed at restoring the Gulf of Mexico, 9:00 a.m. Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack leads the meeting.

THIS WEEKEND
Saturday, Dec. 17 – Running of the Santas New Orleans, annual race and bar tour which sees patrons dressed up as Santa to raise money for charity. The event originated in 1998 on the streets of Philadelphia, and has since expanded to over 20 host cities across the nation. This year's other events were staged in Baltimore, Boston, and Chicago and Philadelphia.
