NEW ORLEANS — The New Orleans Steamboat Company welcomed Scott Nesbitt as the new Executive Chef for the Natchez.

A Hawaiian native, Scott found himself in the south when he attended Louisiana Tech University. His love of the culinary arts has led him through an extensive background in the food industry, mostly in the southern states. Before joining the New Orleans Steamboat Company, Scott served as Sous Chef/ Interim Executive Chef at the Royal Sonesta Hotel in New Orleans. His experience also includes several resorts, casinos, and restaurants, usually holding positions as Sous Chef or Executive Chef.

“Scott has been exposed to many different cultural tastes and experiences,” says Ed Krepps, Director of Food and Beverage for the Steamboat Natchez. “He also brings extensive skill in managing a team of cooks and preparing high quality food for large numbers. He has a passion for food which is absolutely necessary in this industry.”

The NATCHEZ sails three times daily and hosts many private events and weddings. It features authentic Creole cuisine and beverages, live jazz music, live narration, Steam Engine Room visits, and calliope concerts.

The New Orleans Steamboat Company was founded by Wilbur and Bill Dow after the rebuilding of the Toulouse Street Wharf in the French Quarter in 1974. Less than one year later, the 1200 passenger Steamboat NATCHEZ was christened. New Orleans Steamboat Company is well recognized and regarded for its contribution to the New Orleans cultural landscape and tourism industry. Since 1975, the Steamboat NATCHEZ has sailed daily offering Mississippi River cruises featuring live jazz, New Orleans cuisine and the best view in town.
