Morris Jeff To Host 9th Annual Community Gala To Benefit School

NEW ORLEANS – The Morris Jeff Community School will host its ninth annual Community Gala to raise fund for its rigorous academics grounded in diversity and inclusion on Thursday, Oct. 12, at 211 S. Lopez St.
The Patron Party starts at 6:00 p.m. and the gala and silent auction begin at 7:00 p.m. Organizers said guests will enjoy an evening of internationally-inspired food and beverage pairings and music.
Morris Jeff Community School has been recognized nationally as a model for public education. The school was intentionally designed by the community in post-Katrina New Orleans and reflects the racial, ethnic and socioeconomic diversity of New Orleans, reps said. By celebrating diversity and inclusion and embracing a rigorous International Baccalaureate curriculum, Morris Jeff serves nearly 900 children in grades Pre K – 9 and is a 2017 Top 10 Highest Performing School in New Orleans according to The Times-Picayune.
School reps said all proceeds will benefit Morris Jeff Community School that offers an unparalleled education enriched by world languages, visual and cultural arts and music instruction.
Patron Party tickets are $125, and Patron Party attendees will be able to bid on exclusive silent auction items and be treated to food and beverages by Mondo and Second Line Brewing.
General admission tickets are $60 per person and includes entertainment, food, drinks and a silent auction.
Silent auction items include four-day Park Hopper Passes to Disney World, jewelry by Mignon Faget and Mimosa, a $300 private shopping party to Vineyard Vines, a cocktail class for six people at the New Orleans Drink Lab, a famous "Be Nice of Leave" Dr. Bob painting and more unique items and experiences.
