Mayor Landrieu’s Office Of Economic Development To Host Business Information Sessions

NEW ORLEANS — On Wednesday, May 11, 2016, Mayor Mitch Landrieu’s Office of Economic Development will kick off another series of Business Information Sessions designed to connect local entrepreneurs and business owners with useful tools and resources to grow their businesses.

“These quarterly sessions are key to helping our local business owners and entrepreneurs thrive,” said Mayor Mitch Landrieu. “When our businesses succeed, our economy gets stronger, more residents gain jobs and we grow the tax base that pays for essential City services.”

City reps said these sessions allow interested entrepreneurs and business owners to learn more about business opportunities. One session will take place in each City Council district.

All are open to the public, and individuals can attend any or all sessions.

District A Councilmember Susan G. Guidry said, “These information sessions help to assure the success of businesses, especially those that are just starting out. Giving business owners knowledge and connecting them to the right resources not only helps them to grow, but I t helps the community, as a whole.  It is a win across the board.”

District C Councilmember Nadine M. Ramsey said, “I encourage everyone with a small business to take advantage of the information and resources offered by these sessions. This is a great way to gain new insight into how to grow your business.”

District D Councilmember Jared C. Brossett said, “As we continue in this period of great economic growth in the city of New Orleans, it is important that we develop strategic initiatives that bring together a cross sector of partners who can provide information, resources, and opportunities to entrepreneurs and small business owners. These information sessions are a perfect example of how proactive governance can create new ways of connecting our local entrepreneurial talent to the City’s economic growth.”
