Mayor Landrieu, JPMorgan Chase & Co., Announce Partnership With New Orleans Nonprofits
NEW ORLEANS – Today, Monday, May 9, 2016, Mayor Mitch Landrieu and Steve Cutler, Vice Chairman, JPMorgan & Chase Co., announced the launch of the New Orleans Service Corps, at City Hall’s New Orleans Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness Conference Room, at 10:30 a.m.
During the three-week program, 16 top-performing JPMorgan Chase & Co. employees from around the world will support New Orleans nonprofits that help disadvantaged youth, foster entrepreneurship and create economic development opportunities in New Orleans.
Employees were matched, based on their professional expertise, to support critical projects at either EMPLOY, New Orleans BioInnovation Center, New Orleans Business Alliance or Liberty’s Kitchen. Employees will help each group address organizational challenges that increase their impact in the community.
Established in 2014, JPMorgan Chase’s Service Corps has provided skills-based employee volunteerism efforts in Detroit, Michigan, Mumbai, India and Johannesburg, South Africa.
Since 2005, JPMorgan Chase has provided $36 million in philanthropic support to create economic opportunity by improving workforce training programs and small business growth in Louisiana.
