Mardi Gras Recycled

For the third straight year employees of the Port of New Orleans, New Orleans Terminal and Ports America participated in the Port Environmental department’s Mardi Gras bead recycling program. This year 704 pounds of beads were collected and donated to the ARC of Greater New Orleans, an organization that provides employment for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. To date, the Port’s bead recycling program has donated 2,351 pounds of beads and throws – surpassing the one-ton mark.
