Maison Dupuy Hotel Announces Regan As New Executive Chef

Matt Regan

NEW ORLEANS – Maison Dupuy Hotel’s General Manager Steve Ferran announced the appointment of Matt Regan as Executive Chef for the Maison Dupuy Hotel and Bistreaux Restaurant.

Chef Regan comes to the boutique French Quarter hotel as a culinary professional with more than twelve years of experience in New Orleans restaurants, most recently as Chef de Cuisine of Vitascope Hall in the Hyatt Regency New Orleans earning a silver medal in the 2016 New Orleans Wine & Food Experience.

Prior to that position, Regan was a long-time member of John Besh’s culinary team rising through the ranks in posts at several of the nationally acclaimed chef’s restaurants. Regan’s work with that organization includes Beshsteak in Harrah’s Casino, Sous Chef on the grand opening team for The American Sector and a 4-year stay as Executive Chef at Luke Restaurant.

Earlier experience includes Executive Chef for the upscale Restaurant at Victoria Inn in Lafitte LA, opening the restaurant in 2003. Married and the father of two girls, Regan attended Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, PA and received a Bachelor of Music degree from North Carolina School of the Arts in North Carolina. He is active in the restaurant industry and a member of the Louisiana Restaurant Association.

“We are extremely proud to have Chef Regan heading up our restaurant and catering operations,” said Ferran. “He brings some exciting new concepts and culinary styles to the Maison Dupuy.”

Named one of the “Top Work Places in New Orleans” by The Times Picayune in May 2016, The Maison Dupuy was built in 1973 and is the last hotel to have been built in the historic French Quarter as the Vieux Carre Commission banned the future development of hotels in that neighborhood in 1975.

The Maison Dupuy offers two venues for breakfast, lunch, dinner and the Sunday Champagne Jazz Brunch. The casual Bistreaux with murals of famous artist Toulouse Lautrec’s Paris scenes, surround dining patrons while floor to ceiling windows offer views of the quiet side of the French Quarter and intriguing architecture. The picturesque Courtyard is a much sought after location for French Quarter weddings offering more than 2,600 square feet of space. On the business side, The Maison Dupuy offers 2,600 square feet of flexible meeting space and its private banquet facilities can accommodate groups of up to 200 people.
