LUNA Fête Lounge Acquires a Major Sponsor
NEW ORLEANS – The Sonder hotel group announced its exclusive sponsorship of The LUNA Lounge for the 2018 LUNA Fête, the City of New Orleans' annual festival of light, art and technology, scheduled to take place from Thursday, Dec. 6 through Sunday, Dec. 9.
The LUNA Lounge Presented by Sonder will be open daily to serve as a heated oasis nestled on the festival grounds opened to ticketed guests only. The lounge will serve food and beverages with LeBlanc + Smith restaurants featuring some of the most celebrated names in the city, including Cavan Restaurant & Bar, Longway Tavern, Sylvain, Meauxbar and Barrel Proof.
Tickets to the LUNA Lounge are $50 and are available for purchase here.
"Sonder is thrilled to partner with the Arts Council of New Orleans to bring this lounge to life," said Peter Bowen, Sonder New Orleans general manager. "We are always excited to support events that promote the culture and authenticity of New Orleans. LUNA Fête is a great way to showcase that, and we are extremely proud to be the sponsor of this year's LUNA Lounge."
Envisioned as a community-wide experiential event, LUNA Fête began on Nov. 29, by illuminating Gallier Hall with a sweeping outdoor projection of light and video. LUNA Fête is now the longest-running, large-scale projection mapping festival in the country. Now celebrating the fifth year of the festival, LUNA Fête continues to innovate and feature new offerings for attendees.
"In keeping with Sonder's commitment to providing unique and stylish hospitality options, LUNA Lounge will offer our guests an oasis to relax, enjoy a drink delicious food from LeBlanc + Smith, and be awed by light-based installations by local artists," Arts Council executive director Heidi Schmalbach said. "The debut of the LUNA Lounge compliments other firsts at LUNA Fete this year, including new projection mappings by local artists and youth, and the premier of a projection on the iconic Piazza d'Italia."
Free and open to the public, LUNA Fête 2018 will feature alternating hourly shows on Gallier Hall beginning at the top of each hour. Each hour will include a retrospective of past projections along with new work by local artists. LUNA Fête will also include a new projection show on the Piazza d'Italia beginning on the half hour, along with local artist installations running from Lafayette Street from Lafayette Square to S. Peters Street. More information can be found at: artsneworleans.org.
