Lugenbuhl Hires Associate Thurman

NEW ORLEANS – Lugenbuhl, Wheaton, Peck, Rankin & Hubbard welcomes associate Jim Thurman to its New Orleans headquarters. Joining the firm’s Bankruptcy, Restructuring and Creditors’ Rights group, he provides experience representing both creditors and debtors in the energy and financial sectors.
Thurman joins Lugenbuhl after serving as an associate in the Birmingham, Alabama, office of national firm Bradley Arant Boult Cummings, LLP, where he handled court filings in connection with bankruptcy, creditors’ rights and distressed investment issues, as well as analyzed court transcripts and evidentiary records to assist in a successful capital appeal.
After graduating magna cum laude with a degree in classics and political science from the University of Alabama, Thurman received his Juris Doctor from the University of Michigan Law School in 2015. While in law school, he received the Dean’s Scholarship and served as an articles editor for the Michigan Business and Entrepreneurial Law Review.
He is admitted to practice law in the state and federal courts of Alabama.
