Lt. Gen. Honoré Joins Local Vets On Environmental Crusade

NEW ORLEANS – Former Hurricane Katrina Task Force Commander Lt. Gen. Russel Honoré mobilized a renewable energy mission with members of the Alfred E. Flynn VFW Hall today, Tuesday, Nov. 1, at the VFW Hall, 531 Lyons St., at 10:30 a.m.

         Honoré joined VFW Hall Commander Doug Thomas and local veterans for the unveiling of a renewable energy outreach program designed for active duty and retired military during the month of November, in honor of Veterans Day. 

         The campaign will partly benefit the renovation project underway at New Orleans only remaining VFW Hall. It includes education and outreach, energy efficiency upgrades and special solar incentives for veterans.
