Kenner Gets Grant to Armor Emergency Center

KENNER (AP) — Kenner has been awarded a state grant of more than $370,000 to install protective measures at its emergency operations center.

Mayor Michael Yenni says the grant is coming from the Governor's Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness. Kenner will contribute a 25 percent match to pay for the project.

The work is expected to strengthen the building against damage from high winds.
