Gillis, Ellis & Baker Launches GEB University Seminar Series

NEW ORLEANS – Gillis, Ellis & Baker is launching GEB University, a seminar series focused on insurance, risk management and benefits.
Gillis, Ellis & Baker reps said this unique service will allow their experts to offer detailed and tailored insurance and risk management training. Through continuing education, they said their clients will better understand the industry, its mechanics and language.
All seminars will be held at Gillis, Ellis & Baker’s Training Room, 1615 Poydras St., Suite 700, in New Orleans.
“Don't Lose Sleep Over Retirement: Plan Fiduciary Responsibility” takes place on Thursday, January 28, 2016, from 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., and will be presented by Daniel Marshall, a Retirement Plan Consultant of The Standard, who has 19 years of experience servicing 401(k), 403(b), defined benefit, and 457 plans. A native of New Orleans, he is a graduate of Jesuit High School and Vanderbilt University, and holds the Series 7 and 66 Securities Licenses
At the seminar, participants, including Chief Financial Officers, Chief Operating Officers, Human Resources Directors, and Retirement Plan Committee Members, will learn:
• Why mitigating fiduciary risk is important
• 10 common mistakes made by plan fiduciaries
• 5 best practices to mitigate fiduciary risk
• Violations of Disclosure and reporting duties under ERISA 3(16) and related penalties
• What to look for when outsourcing fiduciary support and responsibility
