Gambel Communications Welcomes Sharon Truxillo

UrlNEW ORLEANS — Sharon Truxillo has joined the team at Gambel Communications as a senior communications strategist. 

Truxillo will develop and manage communications strategies and solutions for a variety of accounts, including New Orleans Women & Children’s Shelter, Plush Appeal, the River District and the New Orleans Chamber of Commerce. She served previously as public affairs director for Cox Communications.

“Sharon is a proven public relations practitioner, and we are thrilled she has joined our team at Gambel Communications,” said Gambel CEO Amy Boyle Collins. “Sharon knows the media landscape of southeast Louisiana and has established relationships across the community and in the public sector that will prove valuable in serving our clients.”

A New Orleans native, Truxillo has more than 20 years of strategic communications experience forging private and public partnerships, spearheading creative solutions that advance brand trust and shaping stronger communities. She has worked for nonprofit organizations, the United States Congress as a press secretary, and private corporations. Her clients have included the U.S. Departments of Education and Labor, Louisiana Partners for Healthy Babies and the Louisiana Organ Procurement Agency.

In her spare time, Truxillo enjoys working for causes that improve outcomes for women and children. She is a member of the Advisory Board of the Salvation Army of Greater New Orleans and a former member of the board of the Jefferson Parish Chamber of Commerce and a former Chairman’s Council member of the New Orleans Chamber of Commerce. She is 2021 graduate of Leadership Jefferson and a 2012 graduate of Leadership Baton Rouge.

Sharon and her husband, Jack, live in New Orleans. She has one son, Cooper, who attends St. Paul’s in Covington.
