Finalists Announced for 7th Annual Millennial Awards
NEW ORLEANS – During the upcoming Millennial Awards ceremony, a group of notable New Orleanians will be recognized for the positive impacts they’ve made on both the local community, and their career fields. The 7th annual Millennial Awards, conceived and produced by the Spears Group, takes place on Friday, July 26, at the Ace Hotel in New Orleans.
This morning, the Spears Group and GNO, Inc. announced nearly 60 finalists who hail from an assortment of professional backgrounds, such as real estate, law, journalism, and healthcare. They were among 250 nominations, selected by a panel of business professionals and past Millennial Award recipients.
They include entrepreneur Sevetri Wilson, James Beard award-winning chef Kelly Fields, Split Second Foundation founder Mark Raymond Jr., lead singer of Tank and the Bangas Tarriona ‘Tank’ Ball, audiologist and CEO of High Level Speech & Hearing Center Dr. Lana Joseph, co-owner of District Donuts Aaron Vogel, founders of Roulaison Distilling Co. Andrew Lohfeld and Patrick Hernandez, and WWLTV news anchor Leslie Spoon.
“These individuals have not only attained remarkable success in their respective fields or careers, but have proven their steadfast commitment to the betterment of our city through their many civic contributions,” said Cleveland Spears, III, the president and CEO of the Spears Group.
“Although the generation as a whole largely gets a bad rap, we saw how instrumental millennials were in the rebuilding of New Orleans post-Katrina and created these awards as a result,” he added. “Each year, we are increasingly awe-struck by the accomplishments of our nominees, many of whom have done more in their young lives than most in an entire lifetime.”

“The 2019 class of Millennial Award finalists is perhaps one of our most impressive in terms of their cumulative impact on the cultural and economic development of our city,” said Spears. “We’re incredibly proud to have created this unique platform to provide these people with the recognition they deserve.”
Registration for the Millennial Awards is $75 per person. The cost includes admission into the ceremony, and into the Emerge Summit taking place on July 25 and 26 in the Ace Hotel.
The two-day Emerge Summit will bring together local and nationally acclaimed speakers, influencers, and change-makers to offer insightful and inspiring sessions relevant to career development and personal growth.
