FestiGals Presents ‘Growing Pains: Taking Your Business To The Next Level’ Tuesday

NEW ORLEANS – Join FestiGals and New Orleans Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) for an evening of networking and discussion with women who have experienced the challenges of growing their businesses on Tuesday, May 16, at New Orleans Hamburger & Seafood Co., 4141 St. Charles Ave., from 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.

         Panelists include:


• Allison Civello, CPA, Wegmann Dazet & Co., APC

         Civello is currently specializing in state and local tax issues and has been with the firm since January 2016. She progressed through the Oreck Corporation accounting department becoming director of taxation. Since then, she served as controller for Oreck Floor Care Center in Houston prior to her New Orleans arrival.


• Mandy Simpson, owner NOLA Boards and co-owner New Orleans Woodworking

         Simpson, a native of New Orleans, started her career in photography, and went on to become a clinical social worker in the medical field of heart transplants where she helped create a psychological evaluation tool that is now used nationwide. In 2014, Mandy joined forces with her husband, Daren Sumrow of New Orleans Woodworking, to create NOLA Boards.


• Luz Lobos, president of Synergy Design Group, Inc., “Exhibitionist Extraordinaire”

         Lobos was born and raised in El Salvador. She founded Synergy in 2000 with the goal to help customers shake off their inhibitions and strut on the trade show floor. Lobos is a sponsor of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Louisiana, member of Women’s President Organization, National Association of Women Business Owners and the New Orleans Chamber.


• Moderator: Stephanie Oswald, WGNO – “News with a Twist”

         TV Personality Oswald is one of the country’s premier travel and lifestyle experts. As the editor-in-chief of Travelgirl Magazine and travel reporter for “News with a Twist” on WGNO-ABC, she’s a go-to girl for tips on smarter, safer travels.


         Organizers said attendees will have the opportunity to learn about the panelists’ experiences and decisions that are important to successful growth.

         Tickets cost $30 in advance and $35 at the door.
