Easton Charter School Hosts Make-A-Wish Presentation With Southern University Band

NEW ORLEANS – Warren Easton Charter High School will host a Make-A-Wish presentation with Southern University’s “The Human Jukebox,” today, Friday, March 6, 2015, at the school’s Band Room, 3019 Canal St., New Orleans, at 4:30 p.m.

The Presentation will be made to Easton band-mate James George's twin brother, Jaymerson George. Jaymerson’s dream is to march with Southern but he suffers from Cerebral Palsy.

Jaymerson is considered the Easton band’s biggest fan and honorary member. Confined to a wheelchair with limited use of his hands, arms, legs and feet, Jaymerson is unable to march with the band. Although he loves Easton’s drum section, Jaymerson’s all-time favorite is actually “The Human Jukebox” of Southern University and A&M College in Baton Rouge, LA.

Jaymerson participated in the Make-A-Wish program, and on Friday, February 13, 2015, his wish came true. He was invited to Southern University and A&M College to experience a practice and a private performance of his favorite college marching band “The Human Jukebox.”

Make-A-Wish® Texas Gulf Coast and Louisiana and Southern University A&M Colleges “The Human Jukebox” will be presenting Jaymerson with an official band hat, overlay and Southern University band T-shirt today. Nathan Haymer, Director of Bands of Southern University A&M College “The Human Juke Box” requested the presentation to be done in the Warren Easton Band room.
