Deutsches Haus To Host Week-Long Tribute To Elvis In Metairie
METAIRIE, LA – The King of Rock and Roll would be 81 this year, and the Deutsches Haus, New Orleans' German Heritage organization, is holding events in January to celebrate the Elvis Presley.
What's the connection between German Heritage and one of the biggest pioneers of Rock and Roll? Germany was the only country Presley visited outside of North America, while he was serving in the Army in the 1950s.

"We hope the community will come enjoy all our special events during Elvis Week at the Deutsches Haus."
On Wed., Jan. 6, the Haus will offer a free Elvis movie marathon starting at 4:45 p.m. Back-to-back showings of "Viva Las Vegas," "G.I. Blues," and "King Creole" will be on-tap, with food, King Cake and German beer available for purchase.
