Demolition Approved For Vacant Tulane Avenue Hotel

America's Best Value Inn

NEW ORLEANS (AP) — A vacant hotel property in New Orleans is set to be torn down to make way for new retail development.

New Orleans CityBusiness’ Robin Shannon reports the Neighborhood Conservation District Advisory Committee voted to approve demolition this week of the former America's Best Value Inn. The vacant hotel is about a block from the Orleans Parish Criminal District Court building.

The property has been vacant since 2011 when a fire in one of the rooms caused severe damage to the roof and most of the second and third floors.
