Construction of First Phase of Clearview Redevelopment Begins

METAIRIE, La. – Clearview City Center’s management team has kicked off construction of its $100 million mixed-use development with the announcement of its first new tenant, Regions Bank, which has a branch under construction at the corner of Clearview Parkway and Veterans Boulevard.
“This first phase of construction marks an important milestone in the development of Clearview City Center, which will completely transform this area and provide world-class amenities for all who live, work and play in Jefferson Parish,” said Thomas Richards, Clearview City Center managing partner. “We are excited to welcome Regions, one of the nation’s leading banking institutions, to our development. Regions’ innovative new branches place a premium on personal service from local financial professionals, in addition to new technology designed to better serve today’s consumers with an expanded set of hours. Regions Bank is an ideal fit for this mixed-use concept to meet the banking needs of our future residents, tenants and shoppers.”
The bank’s 3,500 square-foot facility is being built on the site that for decades was home to the Sears auto center. The property was acquired by Clearview City Center owners in 2018.
“Regions Bank is committed to delivering the banking services our customers want – when and where they want it. This location gives us the ideal site to build on that commitment,” Graham Ralston, New Orleans area market executive for Regions Bank, said. “Clearview City Center provides convenient access for current customers, and it will help us reach new customers with our unique blend of one-on-one, personal service and modern features that make banking easier.”
Clearview City Center’s first phase of construction began July 20 with the demolition of the former Sears auto center. The redevelopment project is expected to create 1,608 total jobs and $123 million in economic impact during construction alone, according to a Greater New Orleans Inc. analysis, delivering a significant injection of spending and economic activity to the region in the coming years.
Richards noted additional tenants will be announced and begin construction in the coming months, including major anchor tenants and the multifamily component of the development. The first phase of the development’s construction will be complete in 24 months with the Regions facility slated to open June 2021.
